How about a gluten free side dish for this Christmas? All the texture and flavor in a dish of charred sprouts with the special touch of Brazil nuts. Try it and surprise the whole family.
Ingredients:
1kg of Brussels sprouts cut in half;
2 tablespoons of sunflower or olive oil;
Brazil nuts to taste;
150g of butter;
Zest of 1 grated lemon.
Preparation method:
Toss the cabbage sprouts in the oil until well coated;
Heat a frying pan until warm. Cook the sprouts in it, cut side down, for 4 or 5 minutes, until it burns on one side and repeat until they are completely cooked, on both sides;
Let cool and freeze;
Defrost again to cook;
Roughly chop the chestnuts, place them in a baking tray and cook in an oven heated to 180° for 5-10 minutes, until golden. Let cool and store in an airtight container at room temperature or freeze.
To serve, heat a large pan or sauté with the butter, until golden brown;
Add the sprouts and chestnuts, season well and cook, stirring carefully so as not to break the buds too much. After heating (about 3-5 minutes), stir in lemon zest and serve.
